Abstract: We present the Manual for Mapping Agricultural Crops in the Amazon, a practical and innovative tool for professionals in agronomy, forestry engineering, biological sciences, and other areas related to sustainable management of the Amazon. This manual provides guidelines for mapping and monitoring perennial crops in the Amazon, using an image library as a tool to facilitate the identification and analysis of agricultural practices in the region. Based on remote sensing and image analysis techniques, this manual offers a systematic and effective approach to: - Identify and map perennial agricultural crops in the Amazon; - Monitor the dynamics of perennial agricultural practices in the region; - Assess the sustainability and environmental impact of perennial crops; - Develop strategies for the sustainable management of the Amazon. Additionally, this manual aims to improve the accuracy of mapping perennial agricultural crops in the Amazon, , providing practical guidance for data collection and analysis, interpretation, and validation of results. The creation of this manual was made possible thanks to the work of a multidisciplinary team of doctors specializing in remote sensing, professionals in Forest Engineering and Biological Sciences, all with extensive experience in the Amazon region. This team, made up of researchers from the Federal Rural University of the Amazon (UFRA) and the Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (EMBRAPA Eastern Amazon), worked hard to create a practical, accessible, and educational resource that can be used by professionals from various fields and levels of experience. We hope this manual will be a valuable tool for you and contribute to the sustainable development of the Amazon.
